Exploring the global development and use of standards in forensic anthropology

Jade De La Paz, Eric Bartelink, Julie Fleischman, Donna Boyd

Forensic science relies on clear and consistent guidelines (standards, best practice recommendations, etc.) to ensure reliable and accurate results in forensic casework. This project aims to explore awareness and use of forensic anthropology standards around the world. Forensic anthropologists and students can fill out a survey at this conference to help us understand their awareness of standards/best practice recommendations/guidelines, if and how they use them, and any barriers to use they may face. The findings will give insights into standard development and use by forensic anthropologists around the world, help improve international collaboration, and help ensure consistency in forensic anthropology practice worldwide.
